Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney’s ownership of Wrexham has brought about a profound transformation within the club. Thanks to their visionary approach, ten determined Wrexham women players secured semi-professional contracts recently. This marked a groundbreaking moment in the team’s history. However, a TV critic thinks there should be more involvement of the management in the Women’s team.

The TV critic draws intriguing parallels to another iconic sports moment—Prince William’s inspiring address to the England Women’s Team. The critic explains why he thinks the women’s team is not getting the same kind of attention.

In the recent Screen Babble episode 43, Kelly, talks to resident TV critic Steven Ross. When talking on the subject of the new season of  “Welcome to Wrexham,” Ross shares that he thinks the women’s team should be focused on by the Wrexham management and Ryan Reynolds.

Steven Ross, speaking on the Wrexham women’s team from what he has watched on “Welcome to Wrexham” said, “In the documentary, you have Ryan Reynolds on like a video call with the Wrexham Women telling them how proud he is, and its a bit like Prince William saying to the Lionesses (England Women FC) – proud of you guys getting to the final but I’m not going to turn up.”

Ross continued saying, “Although equally, they are helping the women’s team seemingly quite keen on raising their level.” Reynolds and McElhenney have a lot on their plates. Soccer clubs have multiple departments and aspects one has to look at. They may be focusing on the major ones for now but they haven’t lost sight of the women’s team.

The victory parade in Wrexham celebrated not just the men’s team but also the women’s remarkable success. They secured their league title and promotion to the first division through playoffs. Humphrey Ker, during a SportsPro show appearance, revealed that season two of the documentary would address the women’s team’s absence in season one.

Ker explained how the women’s team was effectively defunct pre-ownership change, with the owners injecting funds to rejuvenate it. He highlighted the women’s recent triumph in winning the Genero Adran North title and securing promotion through a playoff victory against Briton Ferry. Ker emphasized that season two would prominently feature the women’s team’s progress and development, rectifying their absence in season one.
