The 2023 season of the NWSL has picked up momentum. All teams are battling each other ferociously to finish the season in style. The forward endured a heavy defeat against Trinity Rodman’s Washington Spirit. Things are looking a bit shaky for the Wave, who suffered yet another defeat. However, even after going through a snag, Morgan kept her head up and responded to the result with some inspiring words.

Alex Morgan issues rallying cry after tough NWSL defeat

It wasn’t the result Alex Morgan was expecting, as her side lost 3-1 to the Spirits. The Wave traveled to Audi Field in order to clinch three points. However, that took an ugly turn as they suffered another loss. After the loss, Morgan maintained her equilibrium, as she had an inspiring message for her teammates.

The USWNT forward gave a three-word response, saying, “We fight forward.” The skipper is trying to ignite her teammates in order to fight back and get a good result on paper. Morgan’s message also assures her beloved fans that they’ll come back with a good result in the next fixture. Although the 33-year-old did manage to get her name on the scoresheet, it only denied the Spirits’ clean sheet.

The first half went goalless; however, Trinity Rodman surged for a win for the Spirits. The 20-year-old scored a goal and also had an assist to her name, thus breaking a major NWSL record. Rodman stole the show, leaving her USWNT teammate’s mouth bitter. The Spirit also pushed the Wave to fifth place, thus getting a third place for themselves.

This definitely gives Morgan a reason to reflect on her team’s form. Either way, her social media message definitely gives a ray of hope to the Wave fan. Speaking of social media, it seems the skipper is using Instagram well as she received a huge financial boost.

Set to receive a huge boost in her net worth

Recently, UK-based betting site Betting.com released a list of estimated earnings from Instagram for female soccer players in 2023. Morgan topped the list with an estimated income of $637,027. This gives a major boost to her $3 million net worth. According to the website, the USWNT star makes an average of $26,532 per Instagram post.

In fact, the earnings are said to be six times higher than the second-placed FC Barcelona superstar Alexia Putellas. On the other hand, Morgan’s USWNT teammate, Megan Rapinoe, also makes it to the top 10. Indeed, it’s quite an astronomical sum that Morgan is receiving, as she is making good use of social media. After all, her 10 million followers on Instagram are enough to indicate her colossal presence on the app.
