Defending Premier League champions Manchester City have taken a tough blow to their campaign as striker Erling Haaland has been ruled out from the game against Luton Town owing to a potential foot injury. This is a rough situation for the side as the team is trailing behind Liverpool by seven points in the title race.

According to reports, the striker has been playing through it for a while now. Haaland suffered an ankle injury during the international break but made a quick return. However, it seems like the injury is yet to heal completely. If it turns out to be a stress fracture, the player could be out for a while.

If the reports of the player’s foot injury are true, Haaland could be out of action for the next two weeks at most. The last time the striker suffered a foot injury, he was ruled out of action for nine days. City, following their game against Luton, face Crvena Zvezda in the Champions League on the 13th of December.

This could be a good opportunity for the side to rest the player with City already through the knockouts. However, a stress fracture to the player could be bad news for Manchester City, as the player might have to miss six to eight weeks of action.
