Soccer is booming after coming to a halt during the peak pandemic. Stadiums are filling again and we just saw how spectacular the World Cup was. However, there are still a few areas where soccer would have to improve or make amends to gain the maximum result. Fans all around the world enjoy soccer, whether it’s in a stadium or via TV or streams. Soccer, amid all this, could tap its full potential of earning and be profitable. Despite deals that can be worth hundreds of millions of dollars, soccer is lacking. But, it seems like changes are being implemented to make this situation worse and gain the maximum the market has to offer.

The World Cup alone made billions for FIFA and other related Orgs. But, that earning could have been significantly higher. This problem, however, is just limited to soccer. Almost the whole sports and entertainment industry is suffering from the same problem.

Soccer entities are cracking down on issues

This report came from The Athletic via Twitter. In the Tweet, they said that the Premier League and EFL are fighting back against the challenges piracy and illegal unauthorized streams are causing. They report that around 17 million Europeans aged between 16 to 74 have consumed illegal content, be it sports, music, or entertainment like shows and movies, costing these entities around an eye-watering 3.7 billion USD.

When you are losing almost 4 billion USD in a single calendar, changes need to be implemented to make sure this revenue isn’t lost. According to the report, this threat is being fought back by the Premier League and EFL. Police in different areas is visiting 1000 homes in a crackdown against the Piracy and Illegal stream of the league.

This sure does seem like high time to bring such an action. Sports had already suffered a great setback due to covid. This lost money can bring back a lot of stability to the game. However, amid all this Premier league is still running strong and making headlines every day for one or the other reason.

Premier League season 2022-23 so far

Let’s start with the biggest elephant in the room when it comes to the League, Chelsea. They are losing as many games as they winning and spending nearly a quarter billion more than other big teams. Until December 31st Todd Boehly had spent 485 million USD just in this season. They made multiple deals in Jan and are reportedly eying a signing with Enzo Fernandez. All this hustle to stay at 10th is making fans troll them harder and harder.

Although all top three teams are performing well and only Newcastle has lost one match along with Arsenal but Arsenal is winning every game, they are playing. 15 wins out of 18 matches they played till now. This is a historic run and if they keep this performance up, the result would burn every other team’s fan base. Although the season has a lot left so, nothing is permanent yet.
