Cristiano Ronaldo is approaching retirement. The 38-year-old is with Al Nassr until 2025 when he turns 40. However, it seems the Portuguese is already preparing for soccer afterlife. He is building a massive $30 million mansion in Portugal and has revealed his wish to own a soccer club.

The athletes’ investments in sports are increasing, thanks to increased earnings. Apart from regular salaries, elite athletes also earn significantly from endorsements. And Ronaldo is no exception to it. Amid his wish to own a soccer club, his former club executive urged him to be a part of the club’s ownership.

Cristiano Ronaldo is an iconic name in soccer. His stints at Manchester United, Real Madrid, and Juventus gave him fame. The five-time Ballon d’Or winner won several accolades with those clubs. His contribution to soccer has been immense. But it all started at Sporting Club de Portugal. The soccer journey of one of the GOATs commenced at 12 with Sporting.

He rose through the ranks and debuted at 16 for the club. From playing for U-16, U-17, and U-18 teams to B-Team and first team, Ronaldo achieved it all in a single season. Such was the caliber of CR7. And then came the crucial game against Manchester United, and everything changed. Sir Alex Ferguson spotted the gem and brought him to Old Trafford. And the rest is history.

Saturday saw Sporting Lisbon celebrate its 117th anniversary. Ronaldo’s mother, Dolores, was an invitee for the program. Meanwhile, club’s executive Dias Ferreira, former manager of Green and Whites, appealed to CR7 during his speech at the ceremony. He would like to see Al Nassr forward as a partner and investor of the club.

Ronaldo wants to own a club

Apart from earning significant salaries, the majority of CR7’s earnings come from endorsements. The Portuguese is also running his chain of restaurants. Ronaldo owns various businesses, with Ursu alkaline water a new addition. To promote his drinking water brand, he was in Spain last month. 

While speaking to the reporters during the promotion event, the Al Nassr superstar revealed his interest in owning a soccer club. He feels that retirement from soccer is approaching. The former Real Madrid talisman has been thinking of investing in a soccer club for a few years. It will be intriguing to see whether Ronaldo responds to Ferreira’s appeal.
