The past few hours have been stressful for Al Nassr fans. The side risks losing Cristiano Ronaldo for the upcoming weeks following his outrage against Al Shadab. CR7 is currently under investigation by the Saudi Arabian Football Federation, with the player accused of making obscene gestures towards fans. Moreover, a hefty fine and a two-game suspension could be imposed on the player if he is found guilty. With the sword over his neck, one might have expected the Al Nassr skipper to apologize for his actions. However, from the looks of it, Cristiano doesn’t think he’s done anything wrong!

The Portuguese superstar issued an official statement earlier in the day explaining his actions. Cristiano Ronaldo stated, “I respect all clubs, and the movement in the shot expresses strength and victory and is not disgraceful, and we are accustomed to it in Europe.”

It is a surprising statement from the Al Nassr skipper, considering his gestures evidently came from a place of frustration. It will be intriguing to see if the Saudi Arabian FA is satisfied with his answers and let him go scot-free or make an example out of the face of the Saudi Pro League.

Why is Cristiano Ronaldo under investigation? Know the entire details…

While many have criticized the Al Nassr skipper for his attitude towards the fans, the investigation stems from his gestures during the game against Al Shadab. The second half of the contest saw the rival fans try to rile up Cristiano Ronaldo by chanting Lionel Messi’s name. The situation became even more intense as the Al Nassr captain was already furious with his team for conceding a goal just moments before. In return, he made an obscene gesture with his hands while pointing towards his jersey shorts.

He then doubled down on the act as he riled up the fans in the game’s dying minutes, urging them to ‘chant now’ just seconds after Talisca scored the winner for his side. His act has set off many Saudi Arabian officials who are displeased with his tasteless act. From the looks of it, the player might have gotten a pass this time around. Nonetheless, Cristiano might have to be careful of his act in the coming weeks, as Saudi Arabian authorities are not very lenient with second chances!
