In August 2021, the first season of the show was released. Hence, in one of the episodes, the lead character, Lasso, is chatting with his players. “I believe in communism. rom-communism, that is,” Lasso said.

“What is Rom-communism?” one asked. “Well, lumber catch, it is a world view that reminds us that romantic comedies with most stars like Tom Hanks, Meg Ryan, Julia Roberts, Hugh Grant, or name some, will you?” One of Lasso’s players then said, “Drew Barrymore, mmhmm.” Another said, “Well, Matthew McConaughey, obviously.”

Barrymore then saw the clip, who went wild upon hearing her name. She gasped and shouted, “I’m in Ted Lasso! Oh my god, Oh my god, Oh my god…aaaa..Oh my god… optimism wins…optimism.!!!!”  Barrymore even shared the clip on her Instagram with the caption, “I love Ted Lasso.”

The actress worked in Netflix’s Santa Clarita Diet, which was released back in 2017. In the series, Barrymore has played a role as a flesh-eating zombie alongside Timothy Olyphant, who is her husband in the show.

It was a macabre yet hilarious drama, and it hosts three seasons. The show has a decent rating on many famous review aggregation websites. The fourth season was also going to have been released. However, the show had a significant setback, thus Netflix canceled the show, as having second thoughts about investing money in the show.
