Megan Rapinoe’s final game for Seattle Ol Reign came against Washington Spirit at the Lumen Field. Despite the game ending in a 0-0 stalemate, the match will be remembered for being Rapinoe’s last-ever club game as a player. However, the game saw an NWSL attendance record of 34,130 fans, with a flurry of pink wigs seen in the crowd.

Speaking after the game, Rapinoe said, “I do know my impact but it’s one thing to know it, and another thing to really feel it and see it. To see some of the signs and the pink wigs and see what that means to people. It’s hard to put just this deep sense of gratitude and joy and thankfulness for being able to have a moment like this into words.”

Nevertheless, Rapinoe’s off-the-pitch support of causes she believes in has drawn divisive and controversial opinions. Recently, the USWNT legend was attacked by British TV personality Piers Morgan.
