From the streets of Madeira to becoming the world’s highest-paid player, it has been quite a journey for Cristiano Ronaldo. Starting his career at Sporting CP, the Portuguese has enjoyed a stellar career with the likes of Manchester United, Real Madrid, and Juventus.
However, it was the end of an era in Europe for Ronaldo, who made his shocking switch to the Saudi Arabian side Al Nassr. Earlier, his contract was mutually terminated by Manchester United. The number seven then spent a month without a club.

During the World Cup, the 5x Ballon d’Or winner was linked to several clubs around Europe. However, those were only rumors, as only a few could afford his hefty wages. Moreover, a reunion with former manager Carlo Ancelloti was also on the cards, but Los Blancos ruled out his signing.
Nevertheless, after staying without a club for a month, the 37-year-old got an offer from the middle east, which he had previously ruled out as his next destination. He will be making his debut on January 22, after serving a two-match ban because of his suspension at Old Trafford.
Fans angry at Al Nassr’s decision after the arrival of Cristiano Ronaldo
While a number of fans are celebrating his arrival at the club, many are angry as well. Not because of his signing, but because of the circumstances that his arrival has created. Al Nassr may have completed his signing, but it was difficult for them to register the goalscorer.

The Saudi League has a rule that teams cannot sign more than eight foreign national players. Therefore, in order to accommodate the former Manchester United player, Al Nassr terminated Vincent Aboubakar’s contract.
Perhaps this might not be the news the striker was expecting, who had a decent World Cup. The 30-year-old scored 2 goals and an assisted one for Cameroon.
Twitter erupts with Al Nassr’s decision
Fans are furious with this baffling situation, so much so that they are already ranting about his arrival at the club.

Fans might be angry with this conundrum but after all, it’s the decision that the club took not Ronaldo. But it’s a bummer that a player of such quality has to sacrifice himself just for the club’s sake. The striker would have looked forward to linking up with the legend, but things took a bad turn.
