Fans troll a Philadelphia Union supporter over Lionel Messi

Inter Miami visited Subaru Park on Sunday to play Philadelphia Union. It didn’t go as expected for the Miami-based club, as they lost 4-1. It was the seventh defeat in a row for the club that will welcome Messi next month. Inter Miami currently sits bottom of the Eastern Conference table and needs Lionel Messi to inspire them.

However, a video of a fan emerged on social media. He held a banner during the game that said he traveled 1200 miles to watch Messi play. Messi’s absence devastated the fan. It soon caught the eyes of Twitter users, who didn’t show any mercy to the fan. One Twitter user wrote, “The Philly?people are mentally delayed.”?

The reason was clear, Messi had just ended the season and played international games. He is on vacation, and Inter Miami is yet to present him as a new player. One user questioned the IQ of the devastated fan.

 

A few Twitter users called it a publicity stunt.

Most social media users feel it’s his fault as he didn’t check anything and wasted money on his trip.

Nonetheless, it’s certain that the whole soccer fandom is looking forward to La Pulga’s stint in America.
