Manchester City has maintained its original stance on the Super League. Following their withdrawal from the tournament back in 2021, the club wants nothing to do with the runaway competition. With the soccer world buzzing about the European Court of Justice’s ruling in Super League’s favor, media outlets were keen to know Guardiola’s stance on the matter. However, it seems like the Spaniard is keeping a tight lip at the moment. During his press conference, he quickly deflected the question, stating, “I won’t talk about it before a final.”

Manchester City is not the only side that has snubbed the Super League. Big clubs around Europe, such as Bayern Munich, Borussia Dortmund, Manchester United, Paris Saint Germain, and RB Leipzig, have already issued a public statement denying any involvement.

The Super League is set to have a tough time getting participants after the ECJ’s ruling
In a surprising turn of events, big clubs around the world have snubbed the Super League despite it winning their legal battle against UEFA. Even top leagues such as La Liga, Premier League, Bundesliga, and Ligue 1 have issued official statements mirroring UEFA’s stance claiming the court’s verdict does not validate the Super League. This is an enormous blow for the Super League, who are yet to find big names apart from FC Barcelona and Real Madrid joining their bandwagon.
