It’s hard to imagine Pep Guardiola crediting someone else for his success. The Spaniard has forged a path of his own with the manager amongst one of the most successful coaches in the world. However, despite his accolades the Spaniard is a fan boy at heart. The Manchester City boss in an interview with TNT Sports talked about his love for star athletes. Pep Guardiola during the interview admitted to waking up late in the night to watch Michael Jordan play.

The Spaniard stated, “I had the feeling that never again, never ever I will see this charisma, this competitor a talented and skilled player. You know all in one person who led the team to many championships. I had the feeling with Tiger Wood for example or [Rafael] Nadal, [Roger] Federer, and [Novak] Djokovic. This kind of athlete, oh my god. So all these packages in one person to do what they do. I don’t know if we are going to see it again. That’s why I don’t want to miss it.”

Pep Guardiola chasing history with Manchester City

The Manchester City boss has the chance to etch his name in Premier League history this season. No team in the league has ever won the title four seasons in a row, with Manchester United and City coming close to achieving the feat. However, Pep Guardiola’s side has the chance to write their names in golden letters with the team three wins away from lifting the League title for the fourth consecutive season.

City is just a point behind Arsenal with a one-game advantage over their opponents. A win over Fulham tonight will see City climb to the top of the standings with 85 points from 36 games. This will put both Pep Guardiola and Mikel Arteta’s side in a neck-in-neck position, with both sides jostling for the Premier League title. The game against Fulham can also serve as the team’s chance to improve their goal difference in case things go down to the wire on the final day.

Manchester City is the favorite to pick the win over Fulham and go on to win the Premier League title. Do you think Pep Guardiola can make history with the club this season? Sound off in the comments below.
