Morocco knocked out Spain from the FIFA World Cup in the Round of 16. Many had expected Spain to win the World Cup as they entered the competition as favorites. Now they are out of the competition after losing against Morocco on penalties.

Spain lost their final group game of the FIFA World Cup against Japan. Japan finished as the group winners after winning over Germany and Spain. However, even they lost on penalties against Croatia in the Round of 16. Both teams from Group E are now out of the World Cup.

Morocco, on the other hand, became only the fourth African team to reach the Quarterfinals of the FIFA World Cup. It is also worth noting that they conceded just one goal in the competition so far. They are surely the dark horse of the World Cup as many didn’t expect them to make a deep run.
