Paulo Dybala’s quiet but memorable 2022 FIFA World Cup journey

Dybala had a very quiet World Cup. This was mainly because of an injury he sustained just before the World Cup campaign. A.S. Roma’s manager, Jose Mourinho, rightfully indicated that he wasn’t sure if Dybala would be fit enough in time for the World Cup.

Scaloni entrusted Dybala to take the second penalty in the World Cup final against France. It’s important to remember that Dybala had just come off the bench a few seconds before the final whistle. While the fans were very nervous about his penalty, Dybala calmly slots the ball into the back of the net, right through the middle.

The Argentine fans were not so sure why Dybala would take such a risk. The former Juventus star later revealed that he just followed Emiliano Martínez’s advice.
