Fans all over the soccer world were stunned after looking at their performance and the quality of soccer.

Paul Mullin uses Lionel Messi as a reference!

The Welsh soccer side’s heroic display raised many eyebrows from across the globe. Paul Mullin’s penalty miss also upset quite a few fans. For the simple reason that Reynolds’ side could have possibly won that game. Post the game, a journalist did ask the super striker about his views on the game. The journalist then hinted towards the penalty miss. However, Mullin didn’t flinch even a bit and was confident with his answer.

Mullin confidently replied, “If Lionel Messi can miss penalties, I’m pretty sure Paul Mullin can”. Quite a few fans were bemused by that statement initially. However, they then realized the depth of it. Mullin was getting unnecessary hate because he missed the penalty. But what he said wasn’t wrong because Lionel Messi and the biggest soccer stars have goofed up in tense situations, too.

The super striker then also clarified that he was calm enough to get this incident past him. Honestly, the Welsh soccer side had already overachieved in the cup competition. The majority of the fans did not find dwelling over the situation worth it anymore. Since then, the fans and Wrexham AFC players have saved that game as a lesson and continued to move forward.
