The ongoing conflict between Israel and Palestine has the world mourning. Several prominent soccer clubs and players have issued statements while celebrities like Ryan Reynolds and his wife Blake Lively have donated funds to support innocent people affected by the Israel-Hamas war. Following what was a record-breaking week for Cristiano Ronaldo, the Portuguese star’s sister Katia Aveiro has made a post on social media regarding the conflict.

Following Ronaldo’s mother Dolores Aveiro’s message to her son, his sister Katia took to social media to post about her brother’s achievements after being snubbed for the Ballon d’Or this year. Additionally, in light of the turmoil in Israel and Palestine, Katia recently shared a post on Instagram with her thoughts about the tragic loss of life because of the ongoing war.

Taking to her Instagram account, which has over 1.3 million followers, Ronaldo’s sister made a post about the Israel-Hamas war that stated:I wonder whose territory it is?? Whether it’s one way or the other…None of that matters to me. I only know and am certain that the innocents can never pay for the darkness of a soulless people. How sad this humanity is.”

“I know it is difficult to wait, but God has time, to act and to heal. All you have to do is trust it… Don’t give up on love, don’t give up loving, one day the pain will pass. Let’s have faith and hope and pray and cry for God’s mercy,” read the caption.  

Katia’s latest post about the war comes after she took to Instagram to shower praise on her brother Cristiano Ronaldo’s career, who is 38 currently. This was following Ronaldo’s Ballon d’Or snub this year as she also mentioned some stats and an anecdote about his background.

Katia Aveiro makes post in praise of brother Cristiano Ronaldo

In her post on the Meta social media platform, Katia proclaimed her brother as being one of the best soccer stars in the game currently despite his age. Katia’s post read: “Aged 38, he is the world’s top scorer in 2023. No way a 38-year-old athlete can play what he’s playing.

Her post further added: “Cristiano Ronaldo has scored 73 goals for Portugal since turning 30. That would make him the all-time top scorer for Germany, France, Italy, England, Spain and 187 other nations. Small thing, right??? They know nothing of your history, your origin, and what material you are made of,” she further stated.

Ronaldo is 38 at the moment, but according to reports, he is eyeing a contract extension with Al Nassr up to 2027, with the 2026 FIFA World Cup for Portugal in his sight. But whether Ronaldo manages to play in the USA, Canada, and Mexico in the 2026 edition of the tournament remains to be seen.
