Lionel Messi is enduring perhaps the best time of his career. The 35-year-old recently lifted a trophy with Argentina, thus completing his trophy checklist. Be it the Champions League, Copa America, or La Liga, La Pulga has won everything.
The attacker enjoyed a stellar career at Barcelona, having won a record 35 trophies with the Catalan club. Even in terms of individual achievements, the Argentine has outdone himself. Seven times winner of the Ballon d’Or and six times winner of the Golden Boot, he has a record for everything.

All the accolades that the No. 10 won might be won by other soccer players as well. But there is a special record that Messi holds, and perhaps that record might be impossible to break.
Morgan hails Lionel Messi
Back in 2012, FC Barcelona was unstoppable and the 23-year-old Messi was out of this world. It was the end of the Guardiola era, who arrived at the club back in 2008. Not only had he won a hat-trick of Ballon d’Or by then, but he also won three golden boots back-to-back. And later again, he won a hat trick of golden boots between 2016 and 2018.
But there was a crazy stat for which Messi was hailed by millions. During the 2011–12 season, he scored a record 91 goals in a calendar year in just 69 games. This is perhaps one of the greatest accomplishments anyone has ever achieved. His record was even listed in the Guinness Book of World Records.

Alex Morgan has frankly said that she is a huge fan of the PSG superstar. In 2016, while giving an interview to BarcaTV, she said, “Messi is an incredible soccer player. I admire him. I like to watch him play. He [Messi] is out of this world and he is on another level. He can do so much with the ball on his feet and he is the best player in the world.”
Many still have different opinion about Messi and there is no ending to the G.O.A.T debate. That’s still a question many are asking, but in all ways, Leo has always silenced his critics. Who do you think is greatest soccer player? Let us know your thoughts.
