In one of the most incredible upsets in recent times, MLS soccer club Austin FC lost their CONCACAF Champions League match against Violette FC. The Haitian side took a 3-2 aggregate win to send shock waves throughout the country. After struggling with severe unrest in their country, it became a fairytale story for the men from Haiti. Austin FC head coach Josh Wolff expressed his disappointment with the inefficient performance his side showcased.

Fans react to the MLS side’s shocking loss to a Haitian team!
Notably, Violette FC took a shocking 3-0 lead in the first leg as they played the game in a neutral venue. However, fans believed the team from MLS could turn it around with the quality they possessed. Things got out of hand, though. One fan could not understand the shocking loss and compared it to the biggest upsets in the game. The fan commented, “This might be one of the biggest upsets ever in soccer I mean ever ever improbable is a huge understatement.”

People from Haiti also expressed their disbelief in the result, showcasing the magnitude of what they did. The fan said, “As a Haitian I actually can’t believe this.” Hence, the comments kept coming in on Twitter on the shocking loss.
Austin FC manager is in disbelief
The differences between the two teams were massive. As for Violette FC, they have not played consistently after COVID-19, and Haiti is suffering from a severe crisis, including food shortage, economic problems, and various diseases affecting the population. Getting a statement win gives hope to the country in a time of unrest. Therefore, the Austin FC manager expressed his disbelief in his side’s performance despite arriving as the favorites.

Manager Josh Wolff stated in a press conference, reported by mlssoccer.com, “These results hinge on plays and I don’t know what we had, 30-something shots tonight. It’s disappointing. But there were a lot of opportunities today to right the wrong from the first leg. We weren’t able to do that.”
