The state of Manchester United and the lack of investment from the owners is a contentious issue amongst fans. Fans voiced their opinions but didn’t gain weight until an explosive interview of Cristiano Ronaldo last year. The Portuguese criticized the owners for lack of intent which didn’t go down well with them.

Cut to the present day, Ronaldo’s claim has been echoed. United legend and former manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has spoken about the state of the club under The Glazers. It seems he agrees with the Al Nassr superstar.

The Glazers took over the Red Devils in 2005. Everything was going well until the summer of 2013. Legendary manager Sir Alex Ferguson retired after winning the Premier League title. The problems started to creep in. Fans were dissatisfied with the way the Glazers ran the club. The attempt of forming a European Super League, with Glazer’s part of it, turned fans against them. It was a point when fans openly started criticizing the owners.

Last year Ronaldo shed light on the state of the club, its ground and training facilities. According to the five-time Ballon d’Or winner, nothing has changed since 2009, when he last played at the Old Trafford. It was a massive claim by the Portuguese that showed the lack of intent from the owners in investing in the world-class facilities for the club.

Now Solskjaer has joined the Portuguese to echo the same. United, entangled in the takeover, received criticism from their legend. Solskjaer, when asked about the takeover, said, “It needs to be done.” He wants to see a change at the club and feels owners are neglecting United. “Old Trafford is neglected. The training ground has been neglected. We need to catch up with the other teams,” he added.

It will be interesting to see how fans react to the comments made by the Norwegian. Whether Glazers sell the club amid criticism remains to be seen.
