“Oh My God It’s Happening”- American Soccer Fans Excited After Reports Emerged of Folarin Balogun Choosing USMNT Over England

Arsenal loanee Folarin Balogun is making a name for himself this season in the soccer world. Being on loan at Ligue1 side Reims, he is in contention for the Golden Boot with 17 goals, only two behind Kylian Mbappe and Jonathan David, who are at the top. But what makes the hype interesting is the forward who represented England at the youth level is eligible to play for USMNT.

American soccer fans are crying for the forward to choose USMNT over England. In the recent international break, Balogun was snubbed by England’s senior team and got selected for the U-21 team. However, the forward withdrew from the squad, citing injury reasons, and decided to visit the US. It raised many eyebrows in the US, and now recent reports of him snubbing England for USMNT have sent fans into a frenzy.

Recently, one of the Twitter handle posted Balogun will snub England for USMNT reportedly. Balogun’s recent US visit has already fueled the news. The American fans flooded his recent social media posts of the US tour, calling him to choose USMNT. He was supposed to be in Orlando for the USMNT game against El Salvador, but he didn’t attend the game.

Meanwhile, fans have responded in excitement to the reports of the Arsenal starlet choosing USMNT. One of the fans wrote, “Oh my god it’s happening.” Some fans labeled the reports as huge, massive, and amazing. The prospect of Balogun and Ricardo Pepi playing together for USMNT at the 2026 FIFA World Cup excites one fan.

A few fans think it is enormous news for the US soccer program, while one opined US soccer is back. Anyhow, the fans can’t stop sharing their excitement. Nonetheless, they want a prolific goal scorer for USMNT and see Balogun as a massive prospect. It will be interesting to see whether the reports turn out to be true.

Balogun was on a US tour recently

 The Reims forward took some time off to visit the US in the recent international break. He was in attendance for an NBA game between Orlando Magic and Washington Wizards. Also, he visited the New York Yankees, an MLB franchise, and pictured himself with Tommy Kahnle.

Kahnle presented him with a Yankees jersey, but what caught the eyes of fans was Kahnle wearing the USMNT jersey. However, he is now back with Reims training for the weekend game against Nantes. He will want to continue his goal-scoring form to help Reims, currently 9th in the table and seven points adrift of a European place.
