The 2024 edition of the National Women’s Soccer League is just around the corner. With the kick-off dates closer than ever, domestic preparations are in full swing. Among all the 14 clubs, NJ/NY Gotham FC have taken their prepping one step ahead, as they have followed in the footsteps of a Premier League team by partnering with a $312 million intelligence platform.

In the hope of defending their 2023 NWSL win, the reigning champions have forged ties with Kitman Labs, a software-as-a-service (SaaS) performance intelligence platform. As compiled by Business News This Week, it will enable the New Jersey-based club to expand the use of IP: Intelligence Platform for Performance Optimization throughout the club. This means that the club’s medical and performance data team will be able to access Kitman Labs’ Performance Medicine, Performance Optimization, and Coaching & Development Solutions.

These tools will enable the NWSL side to integrate player medical and performance data from various sources, such as games, training sessions, gym sessions, and physical testing, into a centralized and fully integrated operating system. This system will eliminate information silos, foster cross-departmental communication, and support evidence-based decision-making. All relevant stakeholders within the club will have access to real-time assessments of each player. Wait, there’s more!

Additionally, players and coaches will be able to input and access data through a dedicated app for real-time data capture both on and off the pitch. All of this sounds a bit technical, but it’s certainly going to provide Gotham FC with an extra advantage over their rivals. Notably, their alliance with Kitman Lab comes just days after a Premier League team also announced a similar strategic partnership.

NWSL and Gotham FC aren’t pioneering this performance intelligence platform!

Just days ago, PL’s Fulham also unveiled their partnership with the $312 million Kitman Lab. The intelligence platform has been integrated into both their men’s first team and women’s teams. Fulham is not the only club utilizing this technology; Kitman Labs’ solutions have been adopted by several prestigious clubs across Europe, including Bayer Leverkusen, Chelsea FC, Liverpool FC, and Sporting Lisbon.

Additionally, not just in soccer, the platform has a proven track record of success with top-tier teams and leagues in various sports, including basketball and American football. Nevertheless, Gotham FC’s partnership is a testament to NWSL’s commitment to innovation and competitive edge.
