Christian Pulisic has been knocking it out of the park this season. If you haven’t been keeping up with his performances, his 7 goals and 4 assists in 14 games should speak for themselves. In fact, it’s not just the fans who are in awe of Mr. Captain America; Pulisic has finally received the much-awaited praise from none other than Thierry Henry.
This may come as a surprise to many because it hasn’t been weeks since the French icon took a sly dig at the 26-year-old earlier. While we will come to it later, it’s the special praise from monsieur Henry that you should look into. Last night, Pulisic and his AC Milan teammates did something remarkable and achieved an emphatic 3-1 win over Real Madrid in the UEFA Champions League league phase fixture.
After full-time, Pulisic was taken aside for a brief interview with CBS Sports Golazo’s regular quartet of Thierry Henry, Jamie Carragher, Micah Richards, and Kate Abdo. Notably, just after the former Borussia Dortmund was about to leave, Henry stopped the winger and began, “Christian, I have something to say. I’ve been saying for a very long time that people are asking me what you need to do to play and perform…”

“And I always said that it’s on you to show people what you need to do. And right now you are doing that every week. So play with your chest out because you’re doing really well. And now we can talk about what you’re doing because you are doing it more often than not. So well done,” concluded the Arsenal and FC Barcelona icon, motivating Pulisic to keep firing all the cylinders like he has been doing so far.
Sadly, the USMNT icon couldn’t get his name on the scoresheet last night against Los Blancos. Goals from Malik Thiaw, Alvaro Morata, and Tijani Reijnders helped the Rossoneri defeat the Spanish captains on their home soil. That, however, doesn’t deny the contribution of Pulisic on the pitch last night. Ergo, the praise you heard from Henry. Now, let’s hear what the French icon exactly said about the winger in the past.
Here’s why Thierry Henry took a dig at Christian Pulisic earlier

Well, this incident dates back to a similar place and stage. Remember Christian Pulisic scored an Olympico goal in the previous UEFA Champions League game? Well, it was something that Theirry Henry has done as well during his stint with the New York Red Bulls. However, the former Monaco man cheekily responded, “I meant it; that’s the difference.”
The room erupted in laughter as Jamie Carragher chimed in, playfully backing Pulisic. “Does it count if you did it in the MLS?” Carragher remarked to Henry, recalling that Henry’s Olimpico goal had been scored in MLS. Many European fans often perceive MLS as weaker compared to Europe’s top leagues. Regardless, Henry now seems to have lowered his back to pay the deserved respect to Pulisic.
