Yesterday, Argentina made headlines following their dramatic match against Brazil. While the 2022 World Champions managed to clinch a narrow victory in the WC qualifiers, it was the pre-match brawl in the stadium that took the spotlight. But it seems the dust won’t settle this easily, as a PSG legend has made a bold claim, criticizing both the Argentine team and Lionel Messi.

Meanwhile, with the win, Argentina managed to etch their names in the history books. But sadly, it also came at the cost of witnessing their skipper get injured.

The match between Brazil and Argentina was delayed after a shocking altercation took place among the fans and police. The controversy unfolded when Brazilian police confronted a bunch of Argentine supporters behind the goal during Brazil’s national anthem. Adding to the chaos, Lionel Messi took his team off the pitch and refused to play.

While the world continues to talk about the shocking incident, it also made the newsrooms of RMC Live for heavy discussions. Interestingly, PSG legend and pundit Jerome Rothen took the opportunity to lambast Lionel Messi and his whole team. During the live chit-chat, he said, “Argentina is not the best team in the world. On the other hand, they are number 1 in behavior, to think they are others. Starting with Messi.”

Rothen was not content to simply criticize Argentina. He went further to argue that the whole squad was lacking in manners, with Messi being singled out as the very definition of it. Be that as it may, it is quite a bold claim from La Pulga’s former team’s icon. Additionally, following the incident, La Pulga gave strong remarks on the incident that took place at the Maracana stadium, surrounding his home country fans.

In the aftermath of the incident, Messi vocally shared his thoughts. He argued, “We saw how they were hitting the people. It already happened in the Libertadores final. They were more focused on that than on the game.” The former PSG man insisted that the decision to go back to the locker room was the best way to calm things down. Otherwise, it could have further escalated the situation into a tragedy.
