Is Wrexham AFC just a Hollywood sideshow, or can they prove their worth on the pitch?

Wrexham AFC, the football club part-owned by Ryan Reynolds, has captivated many as it made headlines, but not everyone’s impressed. Michael Duff, the Huddersfield Town boss, has landed a huge reality check ahead of their clash with the Welsh club. Duff is unimpressed with the Hollywood glamor surrounding Wrexham. “I’m not really interested.

Therefore, what can we expect from this clash? He has a team on fire, and they want to keep the good times rolling. From Wrexham, meanwhile, comes an early reminder that they must show this is not just a celebrity sideshow. It could well be a battle of wills as two ravenously hungry teams square off for a crucial three points.

It’s a great story what’s going on at Wrexham, but I’m not really interested in it, to be honest. We’ve got to go there and do a job and hopefully take 3 points.” Wrexham’s fairytale story has been the talk of football this week, however, Duff is keeping his Huddersfield Town squad on a level playing field.

We’ve got two tough games now. Two in the top four. Whether people expect them not to be there or not, it doesn’t matter.” Huddersfield ran out 3-0 winners in their last clash, thanks to goals from Matty Pearson, Callum Marshall, and Bojan Radulovic. Rovers did pull one back through Isaac Hutchinson, but Huddersfield never looked like letting their 3-1 lead slip.

Huddersfield vs. Wrexham is set to be a war of attrition, with two determined sides eager for the run. Huddersfield has been in winning ways; they’d want to keep going, but Wrexham really wanted to prove it wasn’t a one-time news headline. The match will be a fast-paced affair where three valuable points are up for grabs.

Why three goals is still a ‘really good record’ for Paul Mullin while Wrexham place even more ‘expectancy’ on star striker

Have an interesting take?

Paul Mullin has been a talismanic presence for the Red Dragons as they climbed out of the National League, where they won the title in record-breaking fashion, and soared directly into League One. The 29-year-old has become a goal-scoring centurion in North Wales.

Summer surgery delayed his debut to the 2024-25 season, allowing others to secure starting positions. Mullin, on the other hand, found the back of the net inside 16 seconds against Rotherham last time out, in only his fourth start of the season.

Since Jack Marriott’s broken leg has ruled him out and Parkinson has indicated that Mullin should be released from his lease, Mullin deserves more minutes: “We all know he’s a great player with an ability to score all types of goals, and I’m really pleased for him. He’s started four games this season, including in the Bristol Street Motors Trophy, and scored three goals, so that’s still a really, really good record, and his all-round performance was brilliant.

Mullin has made 151 appearances for Wrexham and has scored 108 goals total. His three Player of the Year victories at SToK Racecourse have made him a favorite with Hollywood co-owners Rob McElhenney and Ryan Reynolds. However, what are your thoughts on Michael Duff’s confidence?
