Erling Haaland is the main man for the Norway soccer team. With 27 goals in 29 games, the Manchester City striker remains their key goal threat. Hence, his injury against the Faroe Islands caused worry among the supporters. Yet, judging from recent games, another Manchester City star seems to have filled the void left by Haaland as his performances received rave reviews.

Before the injury, Erling Haaland was at his goalscoring best. The Ballon d’Or runner-up has scored 17 goals for Manchester City and is leading the Premier League scoring charts. Hence, manager Pep Guardiola would be hoping to have his talisman back soon as the title race heats up.

Manchester City youngster shines for Norway as fans left dazzled

It seems Manchester City have already provided Norway with a Haaland alternative. Oscar Bobb, a highly gifted technical midfielder has been controlling proceedings for Norway in recent games. The 20-year-old made his debut in the European qualifiers against Cyprus and his performance gave a sign of things to come. The young Norwegian scored his debut international goal against the Faroe Islands while playing on the right flank. However, his best performance came against Scotland which left fans on social media in awe of the Norwegian youngster.

Bobb completed the 90 minutes while being the creative hub for the team. He completed 38 out of 42 passes with an accuracy of 90% while creating two goal-scoring chances. While Oscar Bobb might not get the sheer goals of someone like Haaland, he helps the team significantly through his strengths.

Bobb can play in multiple positions as per his coach Guardiola. Norway already seems to be benefitting from his versatility as they use him on the wing. Bobb excels in tight spaces while possessing great close control and an eye for a pass. The technically gifted midfielder as described by the official Manchester City website looks tailor-made for Guardiola’s style of play.

Manchester City’s next game is a big one against title contenders Liverpool. After a lot of injury issues, Guardiola’s men are set to receive a surprise boost as per reports.

Erling Haaland likely to be available against Liverpool

As per Fabrizio Romano, Haaland is not as serious as initially thought. Hence, it is likely that Haaland will be in the lineup to take on Jurgen Klopp’s men. This is the news City fans desperately wanted to hear.

Haaland had injured his ankle in the match against Faroe Islands. His injury forced him to miss the crucial match against Scotland which is likely a precautionary measure.  With Norway officially out of the Euros, Haaland will be focusing his efforts on winning titles with Manchester City.
