Megan Rapinoe has retired from international soccer. Rapinoe won two World Cups with the USWNT in 2015 and 2019 and also captained the national team in this year’s 2023 FIFA Women’s World Cup. However, the USWNT were dumped out of the tournament against Sweden after Rapinoe’s missed penalty. Now, Piers Morgan has spoken out about Rapine after her last international game, and has dubbed her to be “annoying”.
The former World Cup winner played what was her last international for the USA in a friendly against South Africa at Chicago’s Soldier Field on 22nd September. The USWNT won 3-0 against South Africa with goals from Lynn Williams, who bagged a brace, and one from Trinity Rodman. However, following Rapinoe’s comments after the game, Morgan hit out at Rapinoe on his show ‘Piers Morgan Uncensored’.
