Despite having a really strong roster, the USWNT’s journey at the World Cup came to a premature end. It was a nail-biter against Sweden but achieving a three-peat just wasn’t written in the stars. Days after the tragic loss, Trinity Rodman penned down an emotional message for her fanbase. It was definitely a sad end to their 2023 Women’s World Cup journey but they’re capable enough of hitting back harder.

Surprisingly, Donald Trump was quite vocal after the Sweden game. He criticized a lot of things including Megan Rapinoe for missing a crucial penalty kick at her final World Cup.

Trinity Rodman is one of the youngest and brightest sparks in the US women’s soccer circuit. At such a young age, she’s already garnered an immense amount of respect and a bulky contract in the NWSL. Interestingly, her popularity is mainly because of her own efforts and work ethic and less because of her ever-famous father Dennis Rodman. She played well and was electric on the pitch in the R016 against Sweden.

However, the ultimate result of the game was quite disappointing for the players, fans, and everyone else. Just hours ago, she posted an emotional message on Instagram. Rodman quoted, “No words… thank you to everyone who helped me grow as a person, soccer player, and teammate during this journey of the unknown. Love this team and we’ll move forward”.

Without a doubt, her heartfelt note received a loving response from the fanbase and her teammates too. Garnering over 51k likes, several USWNT teammates expressed their love with a shower of hearts and support in the comments section. One of the comments was by Megan Rapione. The soccer veteran wrote, “So proud of you. Future is bright”.

In his statement, Trump felt that the USWNT’s loss was ‘shocking and totally unexpected’. He continued, “Many of our players were openly hostile to America- No other country behaved in such a manner, or even close. WOKE EQUALS FAILURE”. He then went on criticize Rapinoe after her blunder in the penalty shootout. He wrote, “Nice shot Megan, the USA is going to Hell!!! MAGA”.

The soccer veteran did not directly respond to Trump’s comments. But she did pen down an emotional statement for her fanbase. Winning the World Cup and a three-peat would have been the perfect end to her soccer career. But it just wasn’t meant to be. Despite their elimination, nobody doubted the capability of the soccer players in the US squad. They’re bound to hit back harder in the next tournament.
