While Real Madrid is looking to step into a new era, the club will probably part ways with icon Luka Modric at the end of the season. The Croatian’s contract with the club ends this summer, with the player set to leave Santiago Bernabeu following the lack of game time under head coach Carlo Ancelotti. According to reports, Lionel Messi‘s Inter Miami was said to be interested in the player’s services. However, Modric’s agent might have put an end to the rumors.

Modric’s agent Vladika Lemic talked with Marca talking about the player’s future at Real Madrid. Lemic stated, “So far there’s nothing clear about Modric’s future with Real Madrid. Next week, things will be clearer for us. Real Madrid is Modric’s home and together we will decide what is best.”

The 38-year-old seems to have fallen down the pecking order at Real Madrid, with Carlo Ancelotti preferring Toni Kroos, Eduardo Camavinga, Aurelien Tchouameni, and Federico Valverde over the Croatian. A move away from the club makes the most sense for the veteran, considering his desire to continue playing soccer. While fans would love to see Modric link up with Lionel Messi and his teammates at Inter Miami, the Saudi Pro League seems like the most probable destination for the Real Madrid legend.

Saudi Arabian clubs interested in Luka Modric’s signatures

The Croatian has been a top transfer target for multiple Saudi Arabian clubs since the last transfer window. With multiple clubs expecting Modric to part ways with Real Madrid, teams want to ensure his services as a free agent in June. Luka Modric’s agent Vladika Lemic has also hinted towards a move to the Middle East, with the agent claiming the player will receive multiple offers from the Saudi Arabian outfits.

Cristiano Ronaldo’s Al Nassr has been keeping tabs on the situation, with many expecting the club to reunite the two Real Madrid legends together. The Al Nassr skipper also wants to play alongside his ex-teammate and might play a huge role in convincing him to join the Saudi Pro League. Meanwhile, David Beckham-owned Inter Miami has also held meetings with the player. However, it seems like the two parties could not find common ground during their negotiations.
