According to a Saudi media journalist, the 38-year-old forward was the clear winner of the award. He finished in the top position above all the other nominees, convincingly.

His strong performances in the last month of the year saw him score five goals and provide two assists. Other than the defeat against Al Hilal, he scored in every game of the month. This is not the first player of the month for the Portuguese this year. In 2023, the Al Nassr star has won a total of four Player of the Month awards in February, August, September, and December.

These goals have also helped the Knights of Najd remain within touching distance of leaders Al-Hilal. At the halfway stage, Al-Nassr sits 7 points behind league leaders Al-Hilal, and 6 points ahead of third place Al-Ahli Saudi.
