Nike Shockingly Selling France Kits With Three Stars Even Ahead of FIFA WC Final Against Argentina

Fans are excited to know who will emerge as the world champions. Amidst this excitement, Nike, the jersey sponsor of the French national team, made a huge mistake before the final.

The mistake is such impactful it would end in embarrassment for the company and France. France is a two-time World Cup winner and boasts two stars on its jersey. However, Nike put a jersey with three stars for sale on its website before the final.

Nike with a blunder ahead of FIFA World Cup final

Nike made a blunder on Friday when they had a celebratory three-star jersey of France on sale. Although the screenshot taken from the French web store shows just two stars (that represent 1998 and 2018) on the jersey, the description reads, “FFF three stars 2022/23 stadium residence.” 

It looks like the company is confident that France is winning the final and will become the three-time World Cup winner. The French team beat Argentina last time when they met in the 2018 World Cup’s round of 16. Kylian Mbappe scored a brace in that game and announced himself on the biggest stage.

It will be interesting to see the game’s outcome after the Nike mistake. Fans from both countries have had their opinion on the Nike blunder. It will be an additional motivation for Argentina as they look to win the first World Cup after 1986.

Argentina takes on France today in the finals
