When the action went thick and fast between the New England Patriots and the Miami Dolphins, things went south for a fan in attendance. A fight broke out between the two sets of fans as a man tragically lost his life. Dale Mooney, a 53-year-old New Hampshire resident, came to watch the game with his son. But soon, a fight broke out, and he suffered a punch from a Dolphins fan. As a result, he fell to the ground and lost consciousness. But now, cameras panned on another set of fans fighting with each other, leaving an MLS legend lost for words. 

During the game between the San Francisco 49ers and the New York Giants, another fracas occurred in the stands. One can see a fan throwing a punch at another individual, as it left a bitter taste in the fan culture of football games. It left MLS legend Taylor Twellman shocked as he reacted on X.

Taylor was a former soccer player who appeared for the USMNT. He is now a soccer television commentator for MLS Season Pass and analyzes most games. But this incident shook him to the core. With a fan already losing his life, we can see a fan pushing people around and even dragging a woman by her hair. As things got aggressive, a 49ers fan with a Richard Sherman jersey punched people around and caused a tremendous commotion in the stands. 

Following this, MLS legend quickly pointed out how Dale Mooney succumbed to his injuries in a similar situation. He tweeted, “Someone died at the Patriots game and these losers do this????? I don’t get it.” The shocking video circulated on social media platforms. The safety of the fans comes into question with the increasing number of incidents taking place in the stands.

With the Mooney incident still fresh in everyone’s memory, it was appalling to witness these fans engaging in such behavior once more. However, in recent reports, news broke out how Mooney did not suffer any “traumatic injuries,” according to NBC News. 

They arrested no one in the incident!

According to a statement Wednesday from the Norfolk District Attorney’s Office, “Preliminary autopsy results did not suggest traumatic injury, but did identify a medical issue. Cause and manner of death remain undetermined pending further testing.” The DA is further reviewing the footage related to the incident, as no arrests have been reported.
