Wrexham AFC’s Ryan Reynolds loves his Canadian football team
In the earlier interview, Ryan mentioned, “I like the Packers in the NFL. But, BC Lions have my heart. You know, back in the old days, Doug Flutie played there, Lui Passaglia.” The Green Bay Packers won 12 league championships and four Super Bowl victories in the franchise’s history. It is the third-oldest franchise in the sport’s history as they enjoy a massive fan following. Hence, Reynolds expressed his desire to support the Packers. But the Canadian football team BC Lions has a cult fan base, and Reynolds prefers this team to the Packers.
BC Lions are in the West Division of the Canadian Football League. They won the Grey Cup six times and are one of the oldest franchises in the world. Some of the players he mentioned, Doug Flutie and Lui Passaglia, are two of the iconic players of the team. Passaglia was the punter for the BC Lions for 25 years on the team. He scored many points and is a part of Canada’s Sports Hall of Fame. Likewise, fans voted for him as the Top 50 players of the CFL’s best players.
And the other player is Doug Flutie. Well, people get their tummies rolling when they hear his name! During the interview, the Wrexham owner mentioned, “Flutie Flakes all the time.”

There are hardly a few athletes who could boast their names on a cereal box. Doug had one of the best cereals ever produced. They launched the product in 1998, and when they planned to sell a few boxes; the company ended up selling 2.3 million copies. They donated some fraction of the profits to Doug Flutie’s foundation, which he created to spread awareness of autism. They auctioned the millionth box off the production line for $1400.
