As stated by Nacional, a popular Portuguese journalist, Clara de Sousa, shared her story about Ronaldo “ignoring” her. She recently made a trip to Ronaldo’s birthplace of Funchal, Madeira, visiting Ronaldo’s statue present there. The statue, unveiled in 2014, is made of bronze and stands 8ft tall.

It shows Ronaldo wearing Portugal’s national team jersey with his trademark hairstyle. It has since become a tourist attraction, and visitors often take pictures with it. De Sousa posted a selfie with the statue on her Instagram and joked about trying to exchange words with Ronaldo.

She wrote, “I still tried to exchange a few words, but he stayed still and focused. Next time maybe”. Her post was a hilarious pun, and her followers seemed to agree, sharing laughs in the comments. Interestingly, this statue had also received criticism, but it was for how it doesn’t resemble the Portuguese captain even a little bit.

Clara de Sousa’s post was a lighthearted joke, and it was clear to her followers that she wasn’t being serious. However, while there are critics judging his every move, it is worth noting that this is not the first instance of support given to Cristiano Ronaldo and his girlfriend Georgina Rodriguez by a journalist.

The internet has been buzzing with rumors about the alleged split between Ronaldo and Rodriguez. However, amidst all this speculation, Portuguese journalist Adriano Silva Martins recently offered an unlikely perspective by expressing his support for the couple.

While speaking to Correio da Manhã, Martins noted, “All couples have problems”. He believes that they will resolve their issues soon and continue to have a healthy relationship. Furthermore, Martins observed that disagreements and arguments are common in any relationship, making this situation no different than any other couple’s experience.
