In less than 10 days, the USMNT will take on Wales in their first game of the 2022 FIFA World Cup. They failed to make it to the World Cup last time, but are back in the 22nd edition of the soccer mega event with a young and stacked roster.
The United States has produced several top soccer players and coaches in the last few decades. Jesse Marsch is among the best coaches to have come out of the US. In a recent press conference, Marsch admitted that he doesn’t care about international soccer. Marsch’s Leeds is 12th in the Premier League table and has lost three straight games.

Premier League side Leeds United named Marsch, the head coach earlier this year. Marsch recently made his predictions for the World Cup during the pre-match press conference of Leeds vs Tottenham. He also admitted that he is fully engrossed in club soccer.
“I don’t care,” Marsch said when asked to pick the winner of the Qatar WC. “And why I don’t care? Because I find international football interesting, but I’m fully immersed in club football and they’re like two different sports, almost. So again, I just want our guys to do well, so maybe the USA. Should I pick the USA to win?”
Marsch is fully focused on Leeds United at the moment. He was quick to admit that international soccer is not his business as of now.

However, Marsch is among the top coaches to come out of the United States. Many fans look forward to Marsch taking up the head coach job for the USMNT in the future. His recent statement didn’t go down with the soccer fans.

It is hard to question Jesse Marsch’s commitment to Leeds United. The Whites have been in the Premier League for a third consecutive season after being promoted in 2020. Jesse Marsch’s insane coaching resume has always linked him with the top USMNT job. Fans were shocked to hear his recent statements comparing club soccer to international soccer.

The USMNT will start their World Cup campaign on 21 November in Al Rayan when they face Wales. They will face England (25 November) and Iran (29 November) next in Group B. The team will start training on Monday and will have seven days’ time to prepare for the upcoming group games.

Many USMNT players have already reached Qatar, being among the first ones to arrive. This will surely give them an upper hand in acclimatizing to the weather and atmosphere.
