We are slowly reaching the final laps of the UEFA 2024. After Spain and France, England and the Netherlands are set to battle out for a place in the finals at Dortmund’s Signal Iduna Park. This is the fourth time the Three Lions have reached the semi-final stage of the European competition. Meanwhile, for the Dutch, this would be their sixth semi-final at the Euros.
Ronald Koeman’s side managed to enter the top 4 with a 2-1 win over Turkiye. While the Turks took a lead within 35 minutes, the Oranje ignited their spirit of a comeback thanks to the efforts of Stefan de Vrij, with Coady Gakpo netting the winner but was counted as an own goal. On the other hand, England were just on the brink of elimination against Switzerland.
After a goalless first half, the Swiss finally broke the deadlock 15 minutes past the hour mark. Luckily, Bukayo Saka found an equalizer minutes later to take the match to extra time. Neither side could find a winner with England eventually coming out on top with a 5-3 win on penalties.

Netherlands vs England: Injuries and predicted line-ups
Injuries
Netherlands
The Netherlands is entering into the match without any injury concerns, nor do they have any key suspensions. Ronald Koeman, who announced the news of retaining his managerial place till the 2026 World Cup, is expected to stick with his usual starting XI.
England
The return of Gareth Southgate’s favorite left-back, Luke Shaw, was eagerly anticipated. The Manchester United defender hasn’t featured for England in the last four matches due to a hamstring blow. However, a brief appearance in the previous fixture means that Southgate can bet on the fullback to stop the Dutch from the right flank.
As for Harry Kane, the Bayern Munich forward was subbed off during the extra time. While it raised major injury concerns, it was reported that the former Tottenham striker had cramps. The rest of the squad remains fit and Southgate has many to choose from.
Netherlands predicted line-ups (4-2-3-1): Verbruggen; Dumfries, De Vrij, Van Dijk, Ake; Schouten, Reijnders; Malen, Simons, Gakpo; Depay
England predicted line-ups (4-2-3-1): Pickford; Walker, Stones, Guehi; Saka, Mainoo, Rice, Trippier; Bellingham, Foden; Kane
