Brazil played Croatia in the quarter-finals of the FIFA World Cup. The 2018 runner-up progressed to the next round of the competition after an exciting penalty shoot-out. Luka Modric’s Croatia managed to beat Brazil 5-3 in the penalties to qualify for the semis. Neymar Jr. scored the opening goal of the game with a stunning individual effort. However, after a few mins, Croatia equalized through Petkovic, sending the game to penalties.

Brazil missed Neymar in the group stages when he got injured in the first game against Serbia. However, he found himself in the lineup at the right time. He opened the scoring for Brazil in the extra time to give the Selecao a small lead. However, Croatia equalized in the final half of the extra time.

The first half was a dull one for both sides. However, Brazil came back stronger in the 2nd half and created several chances. But the Croatian defense led by Gvardiol managed to defend well. The game ended 0-0 at full-time.

Neymar did open the scoring for Brazil. However, Croatia scored through Petkovic in the 117th min of the game. The game went to penalties. Brazil entered the competition as the favorite and won their first game against Serbia with Neymar. However, despite Neymar’s injury, they managed to win their 2nd game against Switzerland.

But they lost their final game against Cameroon through Aboubakar’s goal in the final minutes of the game. But Brazil thrashed South Korea to qualify for the quarter-finals to face Croatia.
