The series between Sacramento Kings and Golden State Warriors is the most entertaining contest in sports currently. The two teams are going head-to-head in an intense battle. Moreover, the Kings have taken a 2-0 lead in the series, leaving the Warriors all to do in their next two games.

The game, however, came to the spotlight for one crazy incident. Draymond Green and Domantas Sabonis went against Green, and it left the Warriors player ejected. Fans reacted on Twitter to how the European basketball athlete flopped like soccer players. 

The incident happened in the fourth quarter of the game, with Sabonis caught up in a muddle with Green. Angry reactions surfaced inside the arena as Green taunted the crowd to boo him more. Upon further video review, the referees ejected Green. Yet, the basketball fraternity focused on Sabonis’ flopping. It became highlighted on social media.

Fans compare Domantas Sabonis’ flopping technique to soccer players

The incident happened when Curry grabbed the rebound and headed forward as Sabonis slipped. After that, he grabbed Green’s leg, and the Warriors player appeared to stomp him on the chest. The referees took to the monitors to see what had transpired. Sabonis received a technical and Green received an ejection because of a flagrant foul two. But, fans failed to acknowledge the incident as they stated how Sabonis acted. 

One fan commented, “Sabonis did the perfect soccer injury impression, though. Gotta give that man an Oscar.” Another fan stated, “Sabonis with that European soccer training – take a moment of extreme pain and act like you’ll never walk again. It got Draymond thrown out. These NBA refs aren’t as wise to that as the soccer refs.”

In the sport of soccer, flopping is a regular occurrence. Most players dive on the pitch while getting tackled. Although some of them grimace in pain, some of them genuinely flop to attract attention. Thus, fans commented on the incident. One fan also stated, “Sabonis: great player. Lot of Euro soccer flop in his game, tho.”

The Golden State Warriors forward arrived at the press conference to explain the incident. He recalled the second time this happened and criticized the referees for the officiating. While speaking in a press conference, Green stated, “My leg got grabbed. Second time in two nights. Referees just watch it.”

Thus, the next game would be crucial for the Warriors to get back in the series. Otherwise, we will see the Kings win yet another game that could be a season-defining moment.
