Rob McElhenney, the owner of Wrexham AFC, has praised Mac McClung after the young player’s stunning performance in the NBA Slam Dunk Contest. The NBA All-Star weekend is in full swing and the atmosphere has been electrifying. On Day 2, fans continued the excitement but the star of the show and the one who stole the show is Mac McClung.

McClung, who is just 24 years old, wowed spectators and judges alike with his Slam Dunk Contest performance. With perfect scores in all his dunks and achieving them on the first try, Mac steamrolled through the competition to win, leaving everyone’s jaws dropped on the floor.

Rob McElhenney appreciates Mac McClung

McElhenney, who is best known for his role as Ronald ‘Mac’ McDonald on the comedy series ‘It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia’, was one of those impressed by McClung’s display. In reference to his own role on the show, McElhenney took to Twitter. “I guess there’s another Mac in Philly now,” Rob said.

It looks like the Philadelphia-born star has welcomed the young talent to ‘The City of Brotherly Love’. McClung’s performance was all the more impressive given that he is the first player from the Philadelphia 76ers to win the Slam Dunk Contest. This feat came just a few days later after Mac signed a two-year contract with the 76ers on February 14th.

Philadelphia 76ers also replied to Rob McElhenney’s comments. “This is a collab we never knew we needed,” the tweet read. It is always nice to see young talent be appreciated and with Mac McClung, it is certainly well deserved.

McClung to also possibly appear next year

It’s no secret that Mac McClung wowed audiences at this year’s Slam Dunk contest. His inventive and awe-inspiring dunks left many people claiming that he single-handedly saved the event.
