A lot has been going on in the world of basketball. The new season of the WNBA is set to begin today. Basketball fanatics around the world are looking forward to the emphatic league encounter. While the news of Brittney Griner’s return also made its way, it has led USWNT star Alex Morgan to urge a WNBA legend to also make a return, just like Michael Jordan.
The whole basketball world saw the return of the great Michael Jordan on the court in 1995. The legendary basketballer was off the court for 17 months after trying to make a career in baseball. While that resulted in bringing him back to the court, Morgan is also trying to pull a similar move on a female basketball legend.

However, aside from showing her enthusiasm about the new campaign, she wrote a cheeky caption for former basketball veteran, Sue Bird, saying, “Sue Bird, are you sure you don’t want to come out of retirement?” It seems Morgan is trying to entice Megan Rapinoe’s fiancé to make an emphatic return to the basketball court.
So far, the request hasn’t been acknowledged by Bird, who still hasn’t given her response. Nevertheless, it was quite a cheeky request from Morgan to her friend. In fact, it is unlikely that she would return to court. But if she does, then it would definitely be a mission possible for Agent Morgan. While the USWNT star is urging Bird to return, the WNBA saw the return of another basketball ace.
Brittney Griner returns to action
WNBA and Phoenix Mercury star Brittney Griner has made a return to basketball, following her return to the US. Griner made her comeback to the basketball court after a prolonged detention in Russia on drug-related charges, which concluded with a prisoner exchange in December.
