Out of all the pre-season friendlies, Wrexham AFC’s 3-1 victory against Manchester United surprised fans. The Red Dragons burned down the Red Devils in a pulsating affair. Although United fielded their under-21s side, Wrexham gained valuable match experience and fitness for the upcoming season. However, fans can hopefully erase the injury suffered by Paul Mullin from their memory. He collided with United goalkeeper Nathan Bishop, which left him with a punctured lung.
While most players react angrily to those injuries, the Wrexham soccer club made peace with the situation. With Mullin being their star man, his fitness is crucial to the team’s success. Ryan Reynolds spoke to Bishop following the incident.

According to Laurie Whitwell of the Athletic, he tweeted an update about Ryan’s message for the goalkeeper. The tweet stated, “Ryan Reynolds has messaged Nathan Bishop to express appreciation for the way he has dealt with the Paul Mullin incident. Wished him luck for the future. Bishop has also spoken with Mullin on messages after the game.” The incident occurred 20 minutes into the game when Mullin looked to latch onto a long ball.
However, Bishop came charging in and clashed with the Welsh striker. After that, Mullin had to receive oxygen on the pitch and was rushed off the turf. Fans and players were anxious about the outcome, as he will miss the start of the season with a punctured lung. Yet, instead of being outraged, Ryan talked to Bishop and wished him well. Similarly, the goalkeeper communicated with Mullin, and all was well between the players.
