While Trinity is busy with the World Cup, one of her teammates from her domestic side, the Washington Spirits, clinched a massive record. Apparently, 16-year-old Chloe Ricketts has become the youngest goal scorer in the history of the NWSL. The record came during the Spirits’ clash against Gotham FC in the NWSL Champions Cup.

After making the record, teenager Ricketts was asked about her goal after the match ended. To which she gave a heartwarming response, stating that her little sister inspired her. “My little sister told me I had to score, so that’s what was going through my mind the whole time,” she said. It is undoubtedly a moment of immense pride for her family and everyone associated with the club.

Notably, the Washington Spirits thrashed Gotham FC 4-2. Surprisingly, Gotham made a promising start in the game after doubling their lead in just 10 minutes. But the Spirits rallied for an early comeback as they finally broke their deadlock, ending the first half 2-1 down. It was the second half that changed the course of the game, as the Spirits hit three.

Seemingly, Ricketts’ goal was the icing on the cake, as it was the fourth goal. Indeed, it is a huge achievement for Ricketts, as she broke a major NSWL record at the age of just 16 years. Trinity must be proud to hear it. Remarkably, Rodman also made everyone proud with her latest achievement.

Recently, SportsBook Review released a list of the most popular young female athletes. The data was based on the most Google-searched athletes in the US in the last 12 months. Likewise, Rodman also made it onto the list. While she didn’t secure the top spot, she tied for fifth place with golf star Nelly Korda, both of whom received 74,000 searches.
