Lionel Messi made history in 2022 when he finally got his hands on the elusive World Cup title. The Argentine, against all odds, proved all their critics wrong following their defeat in the tournament’s opening clash against Saudi Arabia as they marched to the trophy. However, things were not exactly a walk in the park. La Pulga shared his journey to the World Cup title in Apple’s newest documentary, ‘Messi’s World Cup: The Rise of a Legend’.
The documentary is set to air on the 21st of February. Despite being weeks away from its release, there has been a lot of hype over the upcoming documentary. The Albiceleste skipper addressed his fans in a social media post earlier today, stating he was excited he got the chance to share his journey with all his fans.

Apple released a ninety-second trailer for their upcoming documentary just hours ago, with notable names commenting on Argentina’s journey to the World Cup title. The small footage saw cameos from the likes of their midfielders, Rodrigo De Paul, Enzo Fernández, and the keeper Emiliano Martinez, who talked about how important the World Cup was for the national team.
He had one last shot to define his legacy.

In one part of the documentary, Messi stated, “My journey wasn’t easy.”
Multiple notable journalists were also seen commenting on Argentina’s historic triumph, with many claiming that this was arguably Messi’s last chance to make history with his national side. After coming agonizingly close in the 2014 final only to have Higuain’s goal ruled off for off side and then conceding in the 113th minute to lose the final, many thought time was running for Messi and co. In the 2018 world cup, they went out in the round of 16. So in the 2022 world cup, many argued it could be Messi’s last world cup considering he was nearing his mid 30s then. However, La Pulga shone during the tournament guiding his team to the World title while bagging the Player of the Tournament award.
Now with the documentary releasing soon, Messi has expressed his eagerness to share his story with his fans.
