Not only did he get featured in all the World Cup games, but he also led his side as a captain at the age of 23. The Leed’s United man has caught the eyes of millions of soccer fans around the world.

Tyler had a decent World Cup this year, thus taking his side to the round of 16, where they lost against the Dutch. He also won man-of-the-match awards in his first two games. But this wasn’t the only thing the 23-year-old won.
USMNT star wins significant award
Every year, the sports governing body organizes the U.S. Soccer Player of the Year award. It is done to honor their best player for all their achievements in that particular year. The award was first presented in 1984, and a total of 26 awards have been given till now.
Previously, Landon Donovan had the maximum number of awards, i.e., four. Furthermore, at the age of 18, Christian Pulisic was the youngest winner of the award in 2017.
Votes are collected from players who received a cap in 2022 and members of the U.S. Soccer Athletes’ Council. Besides this, head coaches from MLS and USL, former players, and selected media members also gave their votes. This year, fans were also able to cast their vote for the best player.

Tyler had the maximum number of votes and won the award. Moreover, Adams is a fan favorite among Americans. During the vote, it was seen that he had 71.6% of the fan vote. This is not even comparable to the 14.7% of Christian Pulisic’s votes and the 8.2% of goalkeeper Matt Turner’s votes.
“Receiving this type of recognition is certainly special, but for me the team’s success is the most important thing,” said Adams.
“Having the experience of going to the World Cup, performing well as a group and moving the sport forward in the United States was super important to me this year, and I couldn’t have done it without my teammates.” he added.
