Trophies rarely elude Kylian Mbappe. Yet one title that still remains out of his reach, is a Champions League with PSG. To his credit, he does have five league titles in France and a World Cup to his name. During a discussion of the top talents in Europe, a soccer analyst chose the forward as the fifth-best player, which was deemed to be an “outlandish” claim by another guest.
Meanwhile, Mbappe reached a new pinnacle in his career after surpassing a French icon after the Euro 2024 qualifier game. The former world champion found the back of the net after a four-match goal drought in the domestic fixture.

The Frenchman has showcased his scoring abilities with PSG but has failed to clinch the Champions League even after six years. Statnam Dave, the soccer analyst, believes Mbappe’s lackluster performance on the grandest stage of European soccer was due to PSG’s system. The Parisians have not yet developed a comprehensive project around the French talisman which has immensely affected his gameplay.
Furthermore, Dave ranked Mbappe the 5th best in the world with a strong alibi, “If Mbappe was in a better system and a better team that worked well, that could play. I wouldn’t Put personally down to him for him not having a top European trophy.”
He went on to put Real Madrid starlets Vinicius Jr. and Jude Bellingham on 4th and 3rd respectively. Manchester City’s Erling Haaland topped the list, with Spanish midfielder Rodri a close second.

On this note, Fuad Cadani remarked on Dave’s pick, “This is your most outlandish pick in my opinion”. He believes Mbappe stands as the premier European talent, citing his tremendous performances for PSG with 220 goals in 269 games. Now, the French forward has reached a new height with his national squad after the Euro 2024 qualifier against the Netherlands.

Mbappe achieves a new milestone with France
The PSG icon eclipsed the Juventus legend Michel Platini to be France’s fourth-highest goal scorer. Mbappe netted 42 international goals to reach this milestone. The 24-year-old striker is only 13 goals away from overtaking Olivier Giroud as the top goal scorer of France.
France maintained their six-match winning streak in the Euro Qualifier after their 2-1 triumph against the injury-plagued Netherlands. Mbappe scored in the opening seven minutes of the game with an outstanding volley from a cross. Furthermore, the French starlet sealed the game in the 53 minute with a resounding strike from the distance, with France qualifying for Euro 2024 next year.
