Everyone is busy welcoming the new year, a new beacon of hope, success, and happiness. Soccer fans have had one hell of a year, especially in the last couple of months. It had everything: World Cup, action-packed games, shocking upsets, and drama. However, the saga came to a fitting end for Lionel Messi as he lifted the trophy with Argentina and fulfilled millions of his fans’ dreams.

Walking to 2023, we have a lot more to look forward to. While they resumed the regular seasons, the biggest soccer event will be the FIFA Women’s World Cup 2023. The women’s soccer teams from all around the world, including USWNT, will meet in Australia/New Zealand to will it all.

As the world knows, the USWNT has been in utter destruction mode on the international stage, as they have won the last two editions of the tournament and are mostly undefeated. With the names like Alex Morgan, Megan Rapinoe, and countless others, they are truly looking to create history by winning three consecutive titles.

USWNT wished fans on the New WC Year

While they are enjoying the holidays, the team will soon be back to training for the WC. The tournament will kick off on 20th July, will run for a month and the final will be played on 20th August. The official Twitter account of USWNT wished fans a new year by reminding them that this year will be the World Cup Year.

In a separate Tweet, they posted a picture of players from USWNT celebrating. They captioned it around New Year as well. The fans are very excited about seeing the USWNT play. Here is how fans reacted to the tweet:

There is a sense of pride in fans supporting USWNT and its players. This team is the most destructive and most skilled in the world.

However, soccer is a match that can never be decided on paper. The fans will have to wait for July to see if the team will make history or will some other team will write the narrative of the tournament.

The last two FIFA World Cups of USWNT

It is quite clear that in the last two editions of the world cup teams had no answer to whatever USWNT was throwing at them. They won every single match they played in the 2015 and 2019 FIFA World Cup, except for one match. It was in 2015 against Sweden, a goalless draw. In 2019, the team had a perfect run.
