Speaking on the show, as also reported by footballjoe, Lehmann said, “That was only three days ago. Drake wrote to me! He asked me for a jersey.”

This comes shortly after Aston Villa’s new 2023/24 kit caused a stir in the media with the UK press calling the controversy ‘shirt-gate’.

The entire upheaval in the media occurred because the Aston Villa men’s and women’s teams complained that the kits provided by their kit sponsors Castore revealed too much after sweating.

The kits and their ‘wet look’, didn’t go down well with the players at all, especially the Villa women’s team. The club threatened to end ties with Castore after the entire kit debacle, amusingly calling it ‘shirt-gate’.

While it could be speculative, perhaps Drake asked Alisha Lehmann for the jersey because he was curious about the uproar. However, the real reasons behind Drake’s message to Lehmann remain unclear.
