The Vanarama National League has finally ended, with Wrexham AFC lifting the silverware. After a 15-year exile, the club finally won promotion to EFL League Two. Hollywood owners Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney will not look back as they have finally embarked on their journey to the Premier League.
It was a tough road for them, but they eventually crossed the finish line. Now, the Red Dragons will be looking to clinch another promotion in the Football League. While many may doubt consecutive promotions, Wrexham captain Ben Tozer has made a huge admission about League Two.

With the new season set to kick off, Wrexham will look to repeat the feat by winning another promotion. Expectations remain high at The Racecourse, as they remain ambitious to get to the Premier League. Fans have increased the pressure on the team to perform well in League 2.
However, according to Ben Tozer, there will be less pressure on them in the upcoming season. As stated by the leader, he said, “The National League is tougher than League Two for many reasons, and I don’t see why we can’t challenge.” The skipper believes the fifth division is much more competitive than the fourth division.

Tozer also insists they can easily challenge in the EFL. He also highlighted Stockport County’s successful run, as he witnessed Wrexham’s second-place finish to champions Stockport County in the 2021-22 season, followed by a loss to Grimsby Town in the play-off semi-final. “Look at Stockport this season, they were up there in League Two,” he said.
“Three teams going up automatically takes a bit of pressure off in a way because there is more chance of going up.” Tozer said three teams going up takes a lot of stress from their minds. “We will enjoy this moment right now but as soon as it comes to it, it is full focus on that,” he added.
It seems Mr. Captain is eager to lead his side to the top as he echoed Reynolds’ 10-year goal of reaching the $9 billion Premier League!

The goal of reaching the Premier League is something that has been on the owners’ minds since day one. In fact, Reynolds even shared his aspiration of guiding the club to the highest division within ten years. “In 10 years’ time, the plan has and always will be the Premier League,” he said “If it’s theoretically possible to go from the fifth tier to the Premier League, why wouldn’t we try?” he added.
It seems the Red Dragons have set their sights on reaching the top of the English domestic pyramid. However, reaching the Premier League won’t be easy. Reinforcing the squad with top-level talent will be crucial. But thanks to the backing of Hollywood owners, acquiring skilled players should be manageable.
