Al Nassr is currently struggling to compete for the title with a draw and a loss. The 2-0 loss against Al-Hilal almost broke their hopes of winning the title. It was clear from the barrage of emotions Cristiano Ronaldo was showing in the stadium. Ever since he was dropped by his boyhood club Manchester United’s manager Erik Ten Hag, he has been going through a slump, despite showing signs of a comeback occasionally. In his infamous interview with Piers Morgan, the Portuguese legend took a jibe at his former teammate Wayne Rooney. Despite such criticism from his former strike partner, Rooney didn’t forget to include the Portuguese star in the list of greats of Manchester United.

After coming through the ranks at Sporting CP, Cristiano Ronaldo joined Manchester United in 2003. Over six years he stayed at United, he became the best player in the world, winning the Balon d’Or in 2008.

Talking on CBS, the host asked Wayne Rooney about his picks if a Mount Rushmore type of monument were to be built for Manchester United. The host provided her list that included Sir Alex Furgeson and Rooney himself. However, Rooney’s list had a surprising name on it.

The 37-year-old soccer legend said, “I think for me Sir Alex obviously of course will be on there. I think Cristiano Ronaldo would be on there and Ryan Giggs would be on there, probably George Best.” His list had many shocking names.

It was none other than Ronaldo. Back in November, in the infamous Piers Morgan interview, the Real Madrid legend criticized Rooney’s looks with a ‘rat’ jibe. So, it was indeed surprising for many when Rooney included his former teammate in the list.

The public feud between Rooney-Ronaldo

Weeks before the interview, Rooney said, “The career he’s had, there’s him and [Lionel] Messi as arguably the two best players of all time. But the things he has done from the start of the season are not acceptable for Manchester United“. These statements landed him in the crosshair of his former teammate.
