Teams around the world continue to prepare for the new campaign as they are actively participating in the pre-season festivities. Seemingly, Al Nassr is also gearing up for some exciting friendlies in the homeland of Cristiano Ronaldo. Meanwhile, major news came out surrounding one of his brands.

Subsequently, Al Nassr has already kicked off its pre-season campaign. The Jeddah-based club is ferociously preparing for their camp in Portugal and is playing in the Algarve International Trophy. Speaking of the tournament, Ronaldo’s water bottle brand is set to sponsor this major tournament.

Everyone is familiar with Ronaldo’s influence around the globe. Aside from being a soccer connoisseur, he has evolved into a successful entrepreneur. A few weeks back, the Portuguese superstar launched his own water brand, called Ursu9. He reportedly invested 10 million euros. In fact, his brand seems to have taken a huge leap in its promotion and marketing campaign.

Apparently, Ronaldo’s Ursu9 is sponsoring the major tournament in Portugal. The company posted about it on its Instagram. It wrote, “URSU is the official water of the Algarve International Trophy 2023, which brings together the teams of Al Nassr FC (Saudi Arabia), Celta de Vigo (Spain) and Sport Lisboa e Benfica (Portugal), from July 17 to 21 at the Algarve Stadium.”

The company is sponsoring the ongoing pre-season friendly tournament that includes clubs like Al Nassr, Celta Vigo, and Benfica. Indeed, it is a huge marketing opportunity for CR7’s water brand. It seems he is keen to promote his water brand, while also telling people to choose water over other drinks. Interestingly, he once led the famous cold drink brand Coca-Cola, to lose billions of dollars.

In 2021, during the EURO 2020 press conference before Portugal’s match against Hungary, Ronaldo addressed the presence of soft drinks placed in front of his seat. The 36-year-old promptly moved them aside and advocated for people to choose water as a healthier option. His action caused a significant impact, leading to a $4 billion loss in market value for the brand.

In response to the initial comments, Coca-Cola stated that they respect everyone’s right to have their own drink preferences, acknowledging that people have diverse tastes and needs. Indeed, it was quite a gesture from the former Real Madrid man. His resentment towards soft drinks shows how dedicated he is to his diet and health.
