The soccer world has become unpredictable, especially the transfer window. With Saudi Arabia becoming an enormous force, fans have seen many unimaginable transfers happening. It all started with Cristiano Ronaldo in January. However, it isn’t only about players. Fans have also seen several managers shifting sides to join Saudi Arabian clubs. One such coach who rejected Al Nassr’s offer is now seeing one of his superstars joining the Saudi club.

FC Porto boss Sergio Conceicao was on the radar of the Al Nassr. Al Alami wanted to sign Porto boss after the previous season ended to replace Rudi Garcia. However, the Portuguese rejected a multi-million offer to join the Saudi Pro League club. Instead, he opted to stay with the Portuguese club. However, Al Nassr shocked him with a move for one of his crucial players recently.

The SPL 2023-24 season hasn’t started well for AL Nassr. The club lost its first two games and needs to come back from those defeats. There were reports of PIF stopping the funds to sign new players for Al Alami. However, the club’s dismal start resulted in a change of plans, and the club splashed $65 million to land Portuguese star Otavio.

The 28-year-old will join the club to strengthen the attack of the club, who barely threatened the opponents in its first two games. It was a shock to FC Porto, who will have to dive into the inflated transfer market to sign a replacement with seven days to go. It will be interesting to see how Porto uses those $65 million before the transfer window closes.

However, the signing of Otavio will boost Al Nassr this season. The SPL club is yet to get off the mark and scored only a solitary goal in the opening two fixtures. However, having a star-studded attack of Cristiano Ronaldo, Sadio Mane, and Talisca hasn’t helped the club, and the fans will hope to see that change in the next game against Al Fateh.
